The NanoCube and NanoClam Series Acoustic Hoods, Chambers and Enclosures: The NanoCube and NanoClam acoustic isolation hoods, chambers and enclosures have been designed to handle problematic low to high frequency acoustic noise by utilizing features such as:
- frequency tuned chamber faces,
- a mechanical energy absorbing high mass base,
- high mass side wall components,
- cable clamping pass-throughs,
- multi-layer composite isolation and damping materials.
- viscoelastic attenuating materials.
- an air tight enclosure.
Isolating problematic noise to ensure "clean" data requires advanced technologies that are synergistically combined to block, absorb and dissipate acoustic and mechanical energy at the highest levels.
Your data, results and time are important, so don't settle for low quality isolation for your instruments. Others may look similar, but they just don't measure up when proven performance counts.
The NanoCube and NanoClam Series are now available in standard and custom sizes ranging from under $5,000 to over $25,000.
FAQ
Why do the top labs use Acoustic Isolation Systems? When isolating high perfomance instrumentation such as Atomic Force Microscopes AFM, it is common to think only of mechanical transmission of noise through solid surfaces such as the floor, walls and tables. However, it is well known that a tremendous amount of noise can be transmitted through acoustical waves that excite natural resonant frequncies within instrument and even within vibration isolation platforms themselves. For example Atomic Force Microscopes are particularly susceptible to environmental noise from acoustic sources such as heating and cooling vents, traffic, laboratory fume hoods, pumps, motors and even conversation.
What is special about the NanoCube and NanClam Series Hoods? Our scientists have spent the last several years developing instrument isolation systems that include state of the art mechanical and acoustic isolation approaches. The newly advanced NanoCube and NanoClam series acoustic isolation hoods, chambers and enclosures have evolved from this work. These devices offer even more energy dissipating layers, with special wall tuning and more added mass. Such advancements have made the NanoCube and NanoClam proven top performing acoustic isolation systems that are now in use with Atomic Force Microscopes from most major manufacturers.
Can a NanoCube and NanoClam Hood be used with passive and active anti-vibration platforms? Yes, the NanoCube and NanoClam are designed to work stand alone or for best results in combination with anti-vibration platforms, reducing system noise by as much as 40 dB. The NanoCube and NanoClam cover a broad bandwidth, but it even offers superior isolation for prevalent lower frequencies such as noise from motors, fans and fume hoods at 20-40 Hz.
When used in combination with anti-vibration platforms, the Nanocube and NanoClam Acoustic Enclosure can actually enhance
the performance capabilities of active and passive isolation tables by reducing excitation of internal table resonant frequencies.
