AFM Bead, Sphere and Colloid probes, tips and cantilevers.Non-Calibrated and Pre-Calibrated AFM Bead, Sphere and Colloidal probes -- As you may be aware the reported nominal spring constant values from all AFM probe manufacturers are well known to be very inaccurate, often by tens of percent or more. As such if you are measuring forces, the manufacturer's nominal value should never be used! Instead cantilever spring constants must be calibrated for each probe if you want accurate and reproducible data. Further, calibration should generally be performed BEFORE MODIFICATIONS because of the added mass. In addition to Non-Calibrated probes, Novascan now offers the best Pre-Calibrated AFM Bead, Sphere and Colloidal probes to save you time and prevent inaccurate data.
